Welcome to the official Boogieman & SoulShine website!

Here's a band that likes a little soul with their blues, and rocks it up all at the same time. This Northern Michigan-based group has roots that run from Chicago and Texas style blues to good ole Detroit rock to Memphis soul.

Band members The Boogieman (vocals), Bill Newland (drums), Bob Wild (bass), Drew Pentkowski (guitar) and Donn Johnson (rhythm guitar) form the rockin' sounds of The Boogieman and SoulShine! Covering songs from artists like B.B. King, Gene Vincent, Bill Withers, John Lee Hooker, James Brown, Taj Mahal, Kim Wilson and Marvin Gaye, just to name a few. Add in fresh, original material and this band is going to make a big noise wherever it goes.

Long-time veterans of the music scene, The Boogieman & SoulShine may be a new band, but certainly not new-comers to the business. These guys know how to put on a show, and plan on keeping their audiences dancing the night away to both rocked-up blues as well fired-up soul.
